“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken“.
~ Oscar Wilde
Monday morning I packed up my van and said good-bye to Buckeye, AZ. I headed west and stopped in Tonopah where I go to a hot spring every time I pass through. Each year it manages to be in worse and worse repair. This year was no exception and as I walked to where the pond was in years past, I was so disappointed to see it not only empty, but full of debris.

A desert oasis was transformed into a garbage dump. But the hot tubs were clean, and I mostly had them to myself with an occasional customer popping in at lunch time or for an after-work soak. I only stayed one night and on Tuesday morning I drove to Quartzsite, got my LTVA pass and found myself a spot in The Magic Circle.

It may turn out to be a temporary spot. I’m waiting for my friend Matt to arrive here this week. We camped together a lot last winter and are going to set up our compound here. Matt traded in his van for a 28’ camper trailer. So I’m not sure how much space we’ll need. We may end up moving to another space once he arrives.
The first couple days in Quartzsite were beautiful weather. It was mid -80’s during the day and cooled down nicely overnight.

Unfortunately, that was followed by 2 days of howling wind, which kept us inside most of the time. Still, it feels good to be back in Quartzsite for a few months.
On Friday, I drove into Ehrenberg P.O. to get an address for the winter. It will be a treat to receive mail on a regular basis for a couple of months.
Lessons From The Road: Despite moving 3 times this week, it was a fairly easy week. No drama. No issues. I guess my lesson is to just go with the flow. And I certainly did.
And finally, my happy song of the week:
